The Expo Center is the premier venue for entertainment and conferences and is located in the heart of downtown Pikeville. The Expo Center opened its doors October 3, 2005 and has since hosted a variety of acts and shows from Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, 3 Doors Down, Godsmack, Staind, Martina McBride, Larry the Cable Guy, Alice Cooper, Trace Adkins, Montgomery Gentry, Kid Rock, Hank Williams, Jr. and many more. Fans have also enjoyed a variety of other events such as Motorsports, Monster Trucks, Disney On Ice, Sesame Street Live, Lipizzaner Stallions, sporting competitions, regional high school tournaments, Mid-South Conference College Basketball Tournaments, conventions, graduations, proms, meetings and much more!Significant Achievements:The attendance record for the both 1st and 2nd year of hosting the 15th Region High School Basketball Tournament was broken in 2006 and 2007. SMG has booked several high caliber concerts featuring top entertainers adored by this region and brought new events to Pikeville, such as Appalachian Regional Conference and the Mid South Basketball Conference. The staff offers promoters incentives and has built key relationships in order to bring more variety and quality entertainment to Eastern Kentucky. The Arena hosts over 75 events per year, welcoming over 200,000 guests annually. SMG is very active in local community initiatives, including the Relay for Life, YMCA, Pike County Chamber of Commerce, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Rotary Club. We’ve also hosted a benefit concert for UNITE Pike and donated funds and serves to support the Shriners Hospital.
